Level 5 – F. Moral development
Early post-conventional: social contract driven.
Shadow work: personal and humanity
This represents Kohlberg’s Level 5 morality, known as social contract based morality. It acknowledges diverse opinions and values, advocating mutual respect for individual or community perspectives. Laws are viewed as social agreements and can be adjusted for the common good, prioritising “the greatest good for the greatest number of people.” Decision-making involves majority rule and compromise. Democratic governance aligns with this stage, emphasising the importance of considering differing viewpoints and working towards solutions that benefit society as a whole through collective decision-making.
It also entails being critical of the negative aspects of democracy (rule of the mob) and being open to other moral social contracts.
In Bitcoin-Leadership this represents moral consciousness that comprehensively understands human drives and motives. It involves understanding the impersonal nature of the resistance against Bitcoin and the incentive structure that supports it. Additionally, it involves understanding game theory and the various aspects of the prisoner’s dilemma. Although Bitcoin is not democratic, its networked, gradual, and somewhat chaotic decision-making process requires a majority of participants to agree on major changes.
Another entirely different social contract could involve a form of feudal overlordship by the new ultra-rich Bitcoiners, as predicted by Aleks Svetski.
