Level 4 – D. Mindset
Interdependent
A more purified ego
After the hectic stage of Maximality, we transition from striving for financial independence to embracing relational interdependence. Our focus shifts from what is functional to what is essential and beneficial for the whole. The relative closedness of our own self-interest-driven experience at the third level now opens up to understanding others with loving compassion. We strive for a common language, establishing a safety net, and aligning with the ‘wavelength’ of others.
Assisted by feedback from our partner, adolescent children, and teammates or colleagues, we develop a renewed reflection on our motivations and understanding of roles and transactions. While our vitality decreases, our emotional intelligence (EQ) increases. Our ego remains powerful but becomes more purified, giving way to more mature, long-term relationships.
Interdependence is also reflected in the evolving relationship with our ageing parents, who may be retiring or becoming dependent. This renewed intimacy deepens our understanding of the connection with earlier and later generations.
In Bitcoin-Leadership this represents the community mindset. It marks the transition from the independence of holding one’s own keys to assisting others who may not feel secure enough to do the same. The maturing mind shows more compassion for those who may be less intellectually or emotionally gifted. This sentiment extends to organising Bitcoin meetups, where all sorts of Bitcoiners are welcomed, not just those with whom we easily get along.
