Level 1 – D. Mindset
Dependent
Taming the wild nature
The still unearthly beauty and spontaneous nature of the young child is gradually lost in favour of the better-adapted, recognisable identity of the older child. The child moves from total dependence to the first fledgling independence of, say, camping alone (starting in the parental garden).
This journey is also visible in spiritual development: unearthly, magical thinking and rich imagination are transformed into thinking in simple terms of good and evil. With this, the child also develops increasing empathy and conscience. Impulsive need satisfaction is transformed into self-control, soloistic behaviour is transformed into playing together and cooperating. As socialisation proceeds, the young child’s genius nature closes in, hopefully to be rediscovered later in life.
In Bitcoin-Leadership this is the childlike mindset with which we approach the world: always interested, always playful, always learning. We need to find a balance between the adult part that weighs the risk and the child in us that wants to experiment.
